I’m Veronique. Dance and music have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began my career as a professional ballet dancer in Europe, and when I eventually stepped away from the stage, my curiosity about the body and movement only grew.
For more than 20 years, I’ve been teaching dance and movement as a GYROTONIC® Master Trainer. Together with my husband, a physical therapist, I own Motion Arts Wellness, where we work with people of all ages and backgrounds — from young athletes and dancers finding their way, to adults wanting to move with greater ease, to people navigating pain, injury or simply the changes that come with life. At the heart of what we do is helping people reconnect with themselves and discover what their own body is capable of.
Sound became a natural extension of that work. What began with curiosity about sound and vibration grew into deeper study, sound immersions, tuning forks, gongs, singing bowls and eventually Somavibe — a space where I can bring together movement, sound, vibration, breath and sensory experience.
Today I offer group sound immersions, private sound and vibration sessions, and tuning fork work, while continuing to teach movement at Motion Arts. I don’t think we ever reach a point where we are finished learning. My work continues to evolve because I continue to learn, explore and stay curious — about the body, about sound, and about all the different ways we can help people feel more connected to themselves. - Master Sound Healer • GYROTONIC® Master Trainer • Sound & Vibration Practitioner • Tuning Fork Practitioner • Aromatherapy • Herbalist • Somatic Movement • Breath & Body Awareness

I don’t know that being Healer of the Year is about doing something big. For me, it is about the people who walk through my door and what I can offer them in that moment.
My work has always been about connection. I spent the first part of my life communicating through dance, and for more than 20 years I have helped others discover their own bodies through movement. Sound has given me another language to work with.
Sometimes that means creating a room where a small group of people can lie down, close their eyes and simply receive for 75 minutes. Sometimes it is sitting beside one person with tuning forks, bowls and vibration, listening and adapting the session to what they need that day. Sometimes sound becomes part of movement, breath or bodywork. I don't follow one formula because the person in front of me is never exactly the same from one day to the next.
I work with people across many stages of life — young athletes and dancers, adults managing busy lives, people recovering from injuries, and people navigating aging and change. What I love most is giving them opportunities to slow down enough to notice themselves again.
I also believe that being a good practitioner means never deciding that you know it all. I continue to study, ask questions, experiment and learn. My background in movement influences how I understand sound and vibration, and sound has changed the way I think about movement. Aromatherapy, breath, sensory work and the many other things I study continue to weave their way into what I offer.
If there is something that makes me worthy of being considered for Healer of the Year, I think it is that I genuinely care about this work and the people I share it with. I don't need my work to be enormous to believe it matters. If someone leaves my studio feeling a little more connected to themselves, a little quieter inside, or simply better than when they arrived, that is meaningful to me.
And I hope I never stop being curious about what else I can learn.
