I believe what makes me a healer is not simply the modalities I practice, but the heart, compassion, and intention I bring to every person who walks through my door.
My name is Laurie Gouley, known as SilverBear, and I am the owner of Mystic Market in New Hampshire. My calling has always been to help people reconnect with themselves, find peace within the chaos, and remember that even when life has dimmed their light, that light has never truly disappeared.
My own journey through a significant health crisis in 2008 deepened my understanding of how profoundly life can change us. It taught me that healing is not always about returning to who we once were. Sometimes, it is about discovering who we are becoming. That experience helped shape the healer I am today and strengthened my commitment to walking alongside others through their own journeys.
Through Reiki, sound healing, crystal bowl therapy, shamanic practices, meditation, wellness coaching, and other holistic modalities, I create a space where people can exhale, feel safe, and be seen without judgment. At Mystic Market, I welcome people who are exhausted from carrying everyone else's burdens, those navigating grief or major life transitions, and those who simply know there is more to their well-being than what the outside world can see.
I don't believe a healer's role is to fix someone or claim to have all the answers. I believe it is to hold space, listen deeply, honor each person's individual path, and help them reconnect with the wisdom and strength already living within them. Every person who comes to me deserves compassion, dignity, confidentiality, and the freedom to show up exactly as they are.
My work extends beyond individual healing sessions. Through classes, women's circles, spiritual mentorship, and Earth Spirit Coven, I help people explore their spirituality, build confidence in their own intuition, and find community in a world that can sometimes feel disconnected. I want people to leave Mystic Market not believing they need me to be whole, but understanding that they have the power to participate in their own healing.
To me, being a healer is not about titles, recognition, or how many people know your name. It is about the quiet moments when someone finally feels safe enough to let go of their tears. It is the person who walks in feeling overwhelmed and leaves feeling lighter. It is helping someone remember their worth when life has made them forget it. Sometimes, the most profound healing happens in the moments no one else ever sees.
If I am honored as Healer of the Year, I would receive that recognition with deep gratitude—not as a declaration that I have achieved perfection, but as an opportunity to shine a little more light on the importance of compassionate, heart-centered healing.
I am SilverBear, and my calling is to create sacred spaces where people can rest, reconnect, rediscover their inner strength, and remember the magick that still lives within them.
Because I believe the world doesn't need more people telling others who they should be. It needs more people willing to help them remember who they have always been.
That is why I do this work. That is the heart of Mystic Market. And that is what being a healer means to me.
